White Walkers Win at Northern Virginia, 6-2
|
The Buffalo White Walkers trumped the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 6-2, at Atlantica. Buffalo left fielder Dread Roberts was named player of the game for his performance. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Bobby Roode was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 1 run on 7 hits, with no walks and 1 strikeout. Today's win puts Buffalo at 45-31, while Northern Virginia falls to 18-58.
With Buffalo leading 3-0 in the top of the fourth, Roberts hit a cutter from José Escalante for a 2-run double. It was his 14th double of the season and put the White Walkers ahead, 5-0.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Buffalo manager Chris Lau.
