Bethesda center fielder Vicente Torres made his presence felt in the 7-2 Atoms triumph over the Squirrel Hill Pierogis. Torres was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Bethesda reliever Kang-keun Yong picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jesús Bruno was saddled with the loss. The 9th-place Atoms now have a win-loss record of 17-21.

Massaguet, Chad-born Ayub Kuthakwakulu came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd and the Atoms trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run double to left to put Bethesda on top.

"It was a solid team effort," said Kuthakwakulu after the game.
