Port Huron Park was the site of a tense game between the Hartford Pride and Port Huron Blitzkrieg.
The Port Huron Blitzkrieg knocked off the Hartford Pride, 3-1, at Port Huron Park. Jeff Reed, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Port Huron won. The first baseman hit 2 home runs. The winner was Arlen Chesnutt, who threw 97 pitches over 6.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 1 run on 8 hits. Armando Garay earned his 1st save in 6 chances.
Reed had a big at-bat with the bases empty in the bottom of the fourth inning, when he hit a solo home run. The Blitzkrieg went on to win.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Port Huron manager Ricardo Betancourt.
With the victory, the Blitzkrieg record now stands at 48-50.
