Bethesda right fielder Byron Shadix was instrumental in his team's 10-5 win over the Yakima Hops. Shadix went 3-4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Atoms. Wilson Molina earned the win to go to 1-2. He allowed 3 earned runs on 9 hits, with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts. The 10th-place Atoms raised their record to 13-16.

Early in the game, shortstop Xiao-gang Qing had a 2-run home run for Bethesda. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Atoms on top, 2-0.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Shadix.
