Supernovas Win at Florida, 4-1
|
The Scranton Supernovas racked up a win at Psychos Ballpark, bumping off the Florida Men, 4-1. Ray Goolsby, who started for Scranton, pitched effectively for his team. Goolsby went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 3, and struck out 6. His record improves to 3-2. Roberto Morales earned his 5th save in 6 chances.
The result might have been different for Scranton, had it not been for Domingo Cabrera, the 27-year old catcher . Cabrera stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Scranton up, 3-1. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We take it day by day here," said Goolsby, "and today was a good one for us."
Scranton improves to 63-33 with the win. They lead their division by 4˝ games.
