Blues Come Back Late, Nip Rails
|
The Barton Springs Blues did just enough to sneak past the Richland Rails, 4-3, at Blues Field. Barton Springs pitcher Dave Newman earned player of the game honors. The Blues raised their record to 13-12.
Donald Martin was the walk-off hero for Barton Springs. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Blues right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"That's a solid team effort right there," said Newman. "Everyone's feeling positive after that win."
