84s Come Up Short at Hollywood
Fans who came to The Hollywood Bowl watched the Hollywood Shredders and the Greenville 84s fight to the finish.

Hollywood starter Matthew Fallows had a strong outing against the Greenville 84s at The Hollywood Bowl. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-4 win. Fallows, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 3 walks.

Takeshi Kovacs dealt the 84s a blow in the bottom of the eighth. Batting with a runner on 1st and Hollywood leading 4-2, Kovacs, who is a two-time Gold Glove winner, hit a 2-1 fastball for a run-scoring double.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Greenville manager John Bosma. "The effort was great."

Hollywood has a mark of 5-3 after the win.
