Marquette beat Asheville at Asheville Park, eking out a 5-4 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher António León, who earned player of the game honors. The Miners keep rolling, raising their record to 11-6.

The result might have been different for Marquette, had it not been for Steve Chittick. The center fielder produced a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put the Miners ahead, 5-4. For the game, Chittick had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We found a way to get it done," Chittick said.
