Hops Need Extra Frames to Get Past Loons
The Yakima Hops did just enough to sneak past the Minnesota Loons, 4-3, at Loony Bin. Yakima pitcher Miguel Núñez earned player of the game honors. Reliever Batu Khan picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Manny Crespo took the loss. The loss drops Minnesota to 6-11.

This game was not decided until late. With no one out in the top of the tenth, Richard Barlow hit a sacrifice fly. The Hops took the lead, 4-3.

"It was a test of wills," said Phillip Tinker, the Yakima skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
