Rails Need Extra Frames to Get Past Blue Sox
|
Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at Blue Sox Ballpark.
The Richland Rails relied on the hitting of first baseman Ernesto Rivera to stop the Irving Blue Sox, 6-5. For the game, Rivera was 3-5 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs. Richland reliever Bumper Pool picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Nate Flores shouldered the loss.
Richland used the timely hitting of Tony Juderías to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Rails on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It was terrific getting this win," Juderías said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
With the win, Richland is 9-5.
