Barton Springs played host to Irving at the friendly confines of Blues Field.

Benefiting from an exceptional performance from George Towns, the Barton Springs Blues defeated the Irving Blue Sox, 10-4. Towns went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Blues. Laurens Bancroft got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 4.2 innings.

In the bottom of the third inning, the Blues grabbed the lead when Bill Gatacre rapped a two-out triple. Barton Springs was trailing 2-1, when Gatacre hit a 2-run triple off King Joseph to put his team in front, 3-2.

"I give credit to my teammates for this win. We got it done," Towns told the Barton Springs Times.

The Blue Sox, at 3-9, have stumbled out of the gate.
