Patriots Take Nail-Biter Over Browns
|
Boston starter Alberto López put a stranglehold on the Cleveland offense. The right-hander had complete command of his slider in leading the Patriots to a 2-1 win. Boston reliever Rafael Herrera was credited with the win, to go to 2-0. Elliot Roebuck took the loss for Cleveland. The Patriots, at 43-27, have now won 4 straight.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 17th inning, when Boston center fielder Yu-shu Kang, facing Hsiao-lou Lei, had a run-scoring ground out. It gave the Patriots the 2-1 win.
"It's great when the crowd gets into it," López said.
