Loss to Coeur Extends New Orleans Losing Streak
|
Ralph Greer never let the Voodoo get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his cutter, to pitch the Coeur to a 4-1 win. The 9th-place Voodoo have lost 7 consecutive games.
Joel Iyiegbuniwe had a big run-scoring triple for the Coeur in the bottom of the sixth inning. With St. Louis leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a changeup from Rainer Polonius and stroked the triple to right-center. It was his 5th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Coeur ahead, 2-0.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Iyiegbuniwe told the St. Louis Daily News.
