Multi-HR Game for Volkoff in 7-5 Win
|
The Nashville Outlaws knocked off the Montana Pandas, 7-5, at Nashville Stadium. Nikolai Volkoff, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Nashville won. The first baseman slugged 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Gerald Plomp picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-5. Gil Herrera was tagged with the loss. At 45-47, Nashville is in 7th place in the Third League.
The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Volkoff delivered big-time for Nashville, stroking a dramatic 2-run double off Salvador Sagastizabal. The game-changing hit put the Outlaws on top, 7-5.
"We played hard and won," said Volkoff. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
