Rocketeers Lose to Dodgers, 4-1
|
Brooklyn Dodgers starter Rod Watts was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Seattle Rocketeers, 4-1. Watts went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 10-4. Tom DeHart got the save, his 5th in 7 chances.
Norwell, Massachusetts-born Tony Wonder came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Dodgers trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run single to right to put Brooklyn on top.
"What we get, we earn," Wonder told the Brooklyn Today.
With the win, the Dodgers improved to 38-46.
