Piranhas Score Late, Upend Stingers, 4-3
|
Aurelius Estrada was instrumental in his team's 4-3 triumph over the Toledo Stingers. The catcher was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times for the Panama City Piranhas. Panama City reliever Gunner Cross picked up the win to move to 8-3. Adam Durango suffered the loss. After today's action, Panama City sits at 38-35, while Toledo falls to 43-30.
Panama City used the timely hitting of Hugh Hill to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Piranhas on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Estrada told the Panama City Herald.
