Outlaws Get Road Win, 12-7
|
The Nashville Outlaws beat the Pittsburgh Kingfishers, 12-7, at Pittsburgh Grounds. The Outlaws got a fine performance from center fielder Daniel Page, who captured player of the game honors. He went 4-6 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Ramón Flores, who went 7.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 5 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 1. His record now stands at 6-4. Nashville is in 7th place in the Third League with a record of 36-35.
With Nashville leading 9-3 in the top of the fourth, Page came up to bat against Pittsburgh pitcher Kenny Aarnoutse. Page hit a splitter to right for a bases-clearing double. His 13th double of the season put the Outlaws on top, 12-3.
"We came out aggressive," said Outlaws manager Ryan Naylor. "We came out swinging the bats."
