Late Rally by Flamingos Secures Win
|
The Las Vegas Flamingos topped the Montana Pandas by the score of 4-3, with the largest share of the credit going to shortstop Esteban León. León was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk for the Flamingos. Las Vegas reliever Mark Jacobson picked up the win, bumping his record to 4-1. Gil Herrera was collared with the loss. Montana is in the throes of a 10-game skid.
Las Vegas needed the clutch hitting of Ernest Lesley to notch the win. The third baseman hammered a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Flamingos on top, 2-1. For the game, Lesley had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Las Vegas manager JJ Hoban. "It's usually not just one thing."
