Flamingos Lose to Rocketeers, 11-6
|
The Seattle Rocketeers downed the Las Vegas Flamingos, 11-6, at The Strip. The Rocketeers were led by Mathew Mayo, who captured player of the game honors. He was 4 for 6 with 4 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Jeffery Clayton. Seattle is in 4th place in the Third League with a record of 34-29.
Seattle used the timely hitting of Jur Prokop to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Rocketeers on top, 8-6. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We maximized our offense today," said Seattle skipper Andrew Powell. "That makes everyone's life easier."
