Great Day for Slaybaugh in Rocketeers Win
The Seattle Rocketeers beat the Echo Park Lakers, 18-9, at Boeing Dome. The Rocketeers got a fine performance from first baseman Jason Slaybaugh, who captured player of the game honors. He hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 5. Seattle starter Virgil Dickerson was credited with the win after throwing 106 pitches over 5.2 innings. His record now stands at 6-2. The 5th-place Rocketeers now have a win-loss record of 29-25.

Yasuhiko Onishi put Seattle in front, 4-2, when he hit a 3-run home run off Bernardo López in the bottom of the first. It was his 11th home run of the season.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Slaybaugh told reporters after the game.
