Outlaws Score Late, Stun Piranhas, 6-5
|
The Nashville Outlaws had to overcome a big game from Panama City center fielder William Penn to leave Nashville Stadium with a 6-5 victory. Penn was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Nashville, at 25-24, occupies 6th place in the Third League.
Had Wilson Hernández not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Hernández hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Outlaws.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Hernández said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
