Scranton starter Dave McAlear pitched effectively against the Vermont Lake Monsters at Nuclear Stadium. The left-hander led his team to a 2-1 win. Roberto Morales was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 2 save opportunities. The Supernovas improved to a lofty 55-22.

Zhong-yan Zhang dealt the Lake Monsters a blow in the bottom of the first. Batting with a runner on 2nd and Scranton leading 1-0, Zhang, who is rated as the 24th best prospect by BNN, hit a 1-0 curveball for a run-scoring double.
