The Vermont Lake Monsters walked off with a big win today at Monster Field.

The Vermont Lake Monsters did just enough to sneak past the Tortolita Drummers, 3-2, at Monster Field. Vermont shortstop Junya Furuya earned player of the game honors. Vermont reliever Larry Strozier picked up the win, upping his record to 1-4. Carlos Taváres absorbed the loss.

Enrique Martínez had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the ninth. The Vermont right fielder came through with a run-scoring single to put Vermont in front, 3-2.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Martínez said.

After today's action, Vermont sits at 38-37, while Tortolita falls to 47-28.
