Lake Monsters Top Redbirds to Even Record

Fans who came to Lansing Park watched the Vermont Lake Monsters and the Memphis Redbirds fight to the finish.
The Memphis Redbirds got a superb performance from pitcher Ainanani Iosepa. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Vermont. The Lake Monsters won the game, 3-2. In spite of the loss, Iosepa was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. Vermont, at 35-35, occupies 5th place in the Silver AAA.
Vermont used the bat of Todd Strachota to get the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Lake Monsters ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Strachota.
