The Vermont Lake Monsters defeated the Hialeah Dodos, 7-4, at Monster Field. Vermont third baseman Meshach Ashpenaz was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The 6th-place Lake Monsters have won 6 straight games.
Ashpenaz had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the tenth. On a 2-0 fastball from John Stevens, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Lake Monsters a 7-4 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Ashpenaz.
