Redbirds Edge Men, 3-2
|
The Memphis Redbirds did just enough to secure a 3-2 victory over the Florida Men at Psychos Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Boris Milatovic, who captured player of the game honors. Earning his 6th save for Memphis was Joe Gram. The Redbirds go to 21-17, putting them 4th in the Silver AAA.
Memphis used the timely hitting of Steve Marwat to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Redbirds on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Marwat said after the game.
