Men Beat Blitzkrieg, 6-4
|
Florida designated hitter Walke Mehoff played a vital role in his team's 6-4 triumph over Port Huron. He was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for Florida. Florida reliever Melvin Conner picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Martin Luther was saddled with the loss. Norberto Huerta got the save, the 5th for him this season.
Mehoff was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once against the Blitzkrieg. With the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that scored 1 and put Florida in front, 5-4.
"If I do my job, we've usually got a good chance to win the game," said Mehoff.
Florida is now 12-15.
