Pride Win at Vermont, 5-3
|
The inspired effort of Vermont right fielder Enrique Martínez was not enough to prevent a 5-3 loss to the Hartford Pride. Martínez belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Hartford is 12-12 and Vermont, with the loss, 13-11.
Hartford used the clutch hitting of Tomás Muinos to capture the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to give the Pride the lead, 5-3. For the game, Muinos had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Muinos said.
