Redbirds Come Back Late to Clip Supernovas
|
The Memphis Redbirds topped the Scranton Supernovas, 4-2, in USSL Triple A action at Nuclear Stadium. The player of the game was Memphis pitcher Morgan Novak. Memphis reliever Joe Gram picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Santiago Morán shouldered the loss. The save was credited to Bill Glenn, his 1st.
Memphis used the clutch hitting of Joël Pesci to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Redbirds the lead, 4-2. For the game, Pesci had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Pesci told the Memphis Gazette.
The Redbirds bumped their record to 13-10 with this latest triumph.
