The Vermont Lake Monsters beat the Hamilton Coyotes, 8-5, at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. Vermont designated hitter Sincere Wushon David earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He belted 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The Coyotes, at 7-14, have lost 6 straight games.

Vermont relied on the hitting of Enrique Martínez to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Lake Monsters on top, 3-0. For the game, Martínez had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.

"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Martínez told the Vermont News. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
