Redbirds Get Close Win Over Blitzkrieg
Lansing Park was sent into a frenzy with a walk-off win.

The Memphis Redbirds topped the Port Huron Blitzkrieg, 3-2, in USSL Triple A action at Lansing Park. The player of the game was Memphis pitcher Mei Zhào. Memphis reliever Bill Glenn was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Daryl Dwyer took the loss for Port Huron.

The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Memphis trailing 2-1, Rodney McClellan hit a fastball from Daryl Dwyer for a 2-run home run, giving the Redbirds the walk-off win.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Zhào.

The Blitzkrieg fall to 8-12 and continue their lackluster start to the 2042 season.
