Dodos Subdue Scranton, 3-2
|
Hialeah beat Scranton on the strength of starter Ed Alexander's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 3-2 win. Alexander, now 2-0, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 2, walking 2, and allowing no earned runs. Surrealiste Zhejna was credited with the save for Hialeah, his 5th of the season.
Hialeah used the timely hitting of Sergio San Martín to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Dodos on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Hialeah manager Nick Allen.
The win gives Hialeah a record of 9-9.
