|
The Port Huron Blitzkrieg topped the Hamilton Coyotes by the score of 5-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to left fielder John Ryan. Ryan went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs for the Blitzkrieg on the day. The winner was Matt Elmore, who threw 96 pitches over 6.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 7 hits. Paco Salazar sewed up the save, his 1st.
Port Huron right fielder Jeff Reed contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a curveball into center field for a 2-run single. It was his 27th hit of the season and put the Blitzkrieg ahead, 5-2.
"We take it day by day here," said Ryan, "and today was a good one for us."
The Blitzkrieg are off to a tough start, getting just their 6th win in 17 games.
