Castillo Helps Bakersfield Cruise to 12-3 Win
|
The Bakersfield Nobles defeated the Jersey City Tritons, 12-3, at Jersey City Grounds today. Leading the charge for Bakersfield was left fielder Roberto Castillo. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Bakersfield reliever José Ruíz picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Sean Jones was saddled with the loss. The 9th-place Tritons have dropped 5 straight games.
Bakersfield took the lead in the top of the fifth when Castillo hit a 3-run home run. His 10th home run of the season made the score 3-0, Bakersfield.
"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Castillo told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
