Redlegs Come Back Late to Clip Disaster
|
The Sacramento Redlegs defeated the Port Royal Disaster, 5-3, in USPL Triple A action at Ballpark of Port Royal, with Sacramento pitcher José Pacheco named player of the game. Tom Warrawong got credit for the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. Hwa-pyung Yi earned his 2nd save in 2 chances.
Sacramento used the timely hitting of Chico Custardoi to capture the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Redlegs on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but he made it count.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Pacheco told the Sacramento Daily.
The 5th-place Redlegs now have a 5-game winning streak.
