The Bloomington Longnecks downed the Syracuse Starks, 8-4, at Lookouts Ballpark. The Longnecks were led by Ignacio Páez, who captured player of the game honors. He was 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Reliever Li-chi Lou picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Jason Sanders took the loss. With the win, the Longnecks have a record of 53-47.
Bloomington shortstop Júlio Rodríguez contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball into left field for a 2-run single. It was his 55th hit of the season and put the Longnecks ahead, 7-4.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Bloomington skipper Curt Kenney.
