Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Lake Monsters
The Lake Monsters had to overcome a fine performance from Tortolita pitcher Will Hoffman to grab a 6-5 win at Monster Field. Hoffman allowed 1 earned run over 7 innings. Vermont reliever Alejandro Araya picked up the win to move to 1-0. Nobuhito Tanaka suffered the loss. The loss lowers the Tortolita record to 9-2.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the tenth. With Vermont trailing 5-4, Wally Hill hit a curveball from Nobuhito Tanaka to center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Lake Monsters had a walk-off win.

"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Hill said.
