The Starks faced a stiff challenge from Forest City pitcher Odmar van Hees, but persevered to claim a win at Stark Stadium. The final score was 3-2. van Hees went 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. The winner was Stan Lowe in relief. His record improves to 1-6. Michael Ramsey took the loss. Jeffery Brock, credited with the save, is now 2 for 6 in save opportunities.

Syracuse took a 3-2 lead on Yoshiki Shimizu's 3rd home run of the season. The solo home run came off Forest City pitcher Michael Ramsey in the bottom of the eighth.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Syracuse manager Martin Stewart. "It's usually not just one thing."
