With catcher Ignacio Páez leading the charge, the Bloomington Longnecks defeated the Forest City Warriors, 6-5, at League Park. Páez, who is rated as the 26th best prospect by BNN, went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Bloomington reliever Li-chi Lou got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Lawrence Lane was tagged with the loss. Bloomington is now 47-42.
With Bloomington leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Páez hit a cutter from Lawrence Lane for a 2-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Longnecks ahead, 3-0.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Bloomington manager Curt Kenney.
