Supernovas Turn Back Vermont, 3-2
|
The Scranton Supernovas got a stellar effort from pitcher Albert Karlier, helping Scranton score a 3-2 win over the visiting Vermont Lake Monsters. Karlier picked up the win for Scranton, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Suezo Amano recorded the save for Scranton, his 1st of the season.
Domingo Cabrera had a big run-scoring single for the Supernovas in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Scranton leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Maximiano Agostinho and stroked the single to center. It was his 4th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Supernovas ahead, 3-0.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Karlier.
Scranton, now 3-1, has played well in the early going.
