Brass Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Starks
|
The Baton Rouge Brass topped the Syracuse Starks, 5-4, in USPL Triple A action at Brass Field. The player of the game was Baton Rouge pitcher and Las Palmas, Spain native David Silva. Baton Rouge reliever Fernando Nava picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. António Rodríguez absorbed the loss. Baton Rouge's record now stands at 42-38, placing them 4th in the Premier AAA.
Dave Summers was the walk-off hero for Baton Rouge. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Brass right fielder hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
Summers described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
