Redlegs Get 7-4 Win Versus Bloomington
|
Sacramento and Bloomington duked it out at Lookouts Ballpark and the Redlegs came out victorious.
Bloomington got a terrific game from right fielder Vicente Gomillion. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Sacramento, 7-4. Gomillion was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The 6th-place Redlegs improved to 39-41.
Sacramento right fielder Paulino Gómez made his contribution to the Redlegs cause with a double in the top of the third inning. For the day, Gómez was 2-4 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 runs.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Sacramento manager Marshall Edwards.
