Browns Stay Hot, Beat Voodoo
|
The Cleveland Browns overcame a good performance by New Orleans first baseman Jason Slaybaugh to knock off New Orleans, 6-4, at Factory of Sadness. Slaybaugh was 2 for 2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Tim Walker got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 4 runs on 9 hits in 7 innings. Picking up the save was Sergio Ramírez, his 2nd.
In the bottom of the third, Cleveland second baseman Jhett Larson had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 3rd and no one out, Larson stroked a 2-run double to right. It made the score 3-0, Cleveland. For the game, he was 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Cleveland manager Greg Diersing.
The Browns, now 5-0, have hit the ground running this season.
