Summers Excels in Baton Rouge Win
The Baton Rouge Brass topped the Plymouth Rocks by the score of 12-7, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Dave Summers. Summers went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 5 for the Brass on the day. With the win over Plymouth, the Brass improved to 41-37.

Had Summers not come through in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have changed. Instead, with two down, Summers hit a bases-clearing double. The Brass never looked back after taking the 8-7 lead.

"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Summers. "Just do my job."
