Longnecks Get One-Run Win at Jersey City
|
Starting pitcher Govaart van Ankeren pitched well enough to help the Bloomington Longnecks beat the Jersey City Tritons by the score of 5-4. Junior O'Day was credited with the save for Bloomington, his 1st of the season. With the win, Bloomington goes to 36-38, while the Tritons fall to 29-45.
Bloomington used the timely hitting of Noah Bushby to capture the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Longnecks on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but he made it count.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Bushby said.
