Victory Over Longnecks Takes Bakersfield to 46-25
|
Bakersfield right fielder Roldão Cintra was instrumental in his team's 5-1 win over the Bloomington Longnecks. Cintra, who is tied for 7th in the PAAA with a .407 on-base percentage, went 1-2 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Nobles. Bakersfield reliever Bing-zhong Qiu picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Hunter Summers shouldered the loss. The Nobles own a robust 46-25 mark.
Bakersfield relied on the bat of Chris Fitzgerald to get the win. The second baseman ripped a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Nobles ahead, 3-1. For the game, Fitzgerald had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"We take it day by day here," said Fitzgerald, "and today was a good one for us."
