The Jersey City Tritons and Baton Rouge Brass were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd at Brass Field.
Jersey City got a terrific performance from left fielder Justice Bigbie, but it wasn't enough to beat the Baton Rouge Brass. Baton Rouge won the Brass Field contest, 8-4. Bigbie was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 4 for 4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Jersey City has now lost 4 in a row.
Jamy Geertsen, who is tied for 7th in the PAAA in bases on balls with 38, helped out the Baton Rouge cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the second baseman went 1 for 4 with a walk.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Baton Rouge skipper Kelly Flint.
