Tight Tilt Goes to Disaster, 3-2
|
Port Royal rode a decent outing from starter Dean Cross to victory over the Jersey City Tritons at Ballpark of Port Royal. The final score was 3-2. The winning pitcher was Cross, now 6-7. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 6. Felipe Deleón was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 1 save opportunities.
The Disaster got a big at-bat from second baseman Anson Darrah. For the game, Darrah was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Port Royal a 3-2 lead.
"Dean's tempo and rhythm were good," said Disaster manager Soseki Matsunaga. "He was the key to us winning."
