Alaskan right-hander Ricardo Martínez made an effective start against the Port Royal Disaster at Sea World, leading his team to a 3-2 win. The winning pitcher was Martínez, now 5-0. He tossed 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 2. Alaskan improves to 47-15 with the win. They lead their division by 7½ games.

Tied up with the Disaster in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Humpbacks got a boost from second baseman Domingo Altamiraño. With a runner on 1st, Altamiraño saw a 1-2 cutter from Pjotr Melis and hit a 2-run home run to break the stalemate and put Alaskan on top, 3-1.

"I felt good up there," said Altamiraño. "I saw the ball well."
