Longnecks Turn Back Plymouth, 3-1
|
The Bloomington Longnecks picked up a win at Lookouts Ballpark, knocking off the Plymouth Rocks, 3-1. On the mound for Bloomington was right-hander Cheung Wuying, who played a pivotal role in the win. Wuying got the win, improving to 5-3. He allowed 6 hits and walked 2 over 7.2 innings. Wuying allowed 1 earned run. Hamilton Franklin, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.
In the bottom of the second, Dao-zi Zhan hit a run-scoring double for Bloomington. The 4th double of the season for the Bloomington third baseman put the Longnecks on top, 1-0.
"Enjoyed this one," Wuying told the Bloomington Observer. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The Longnecks' win now puts them at 25-28.
